Applause for Willmore the Wizard’s Programs

"Thank you again for your enthusiastic and educational performance. Both students and staff really enjoyed your program. Many of the children commented it was their favorite assembly of all. Your use of magic, music and audience participation was particularly engaging. I would gladly recommend your program to any school or library as fun and worthwhile."

"I heartily recommend your show to schools and libraries, for I have never seen a magic show that incorporates reading so much into the fabric of the performance. Bravo for bringing books to the fore! You have a very professional act and an easy rapport with the audience, who enjoyed your upbeat antics as much as I did."
-- Josh Kennedy, Children’s Librarian
    Boxford Village Library |
"The students thoroughly enjoyed Willmore the Wizard’s presentation. From the beginning, students immediately became actively involved with Willmore. His magic tricks kept the audience interested, and his message that reading can take you places you’ve never been made a lasting impression on our students. Willmore emphasized that reading various genres can be enjoyable. His props, and the books he connected with them, kept the children interested and always wondering what would happen next. Parents told me that their children went home with great enthusiasm for the program, and all agreed that Reading is Magic."

    Witchcraft Height School, Salem |
"Entertaining and age appropriate with a great message! The kids were controlled and could see and hear every part of the show. It’s all they talked about for the rest of the day! And the teachers really appreciated the follow-up classroom activities provided by Willmore."
-- Nancy O’Brien, Teacher
St. John the Baptist Parish, Peabody |
"Thank you for coming to our school’s Literacy Night to perform your program. Not only was it entertaining and fun, but it reinforced a very important message about the importance and joy of reading. All of the children, parents and teachers had a wonderful time watching the show that night. Several parents have since shared with me how much their family enjoyed the show. I would highly recommend you and your work to others. It was terrific!"

"Willmore the Wizard gets kids excited about the magic of books with his enthusiasm and sleight of hand. His program was a joy to experience! It’s fun for the whole family. It was so full of energy and excitement that it was impossible not to get involved. I loved the fact that libraries are a focal point in his program, and that he instills the love of reading in children."

"Thank you for another crowd-pleasing performance. We love having you, knowing your show will be a sure audience draw. We also appreciate knowing the children will receive a very entertaining magic show which brings the love of books and reading into every level of the performance. The children walk away knowing that you, someone they find exciting and fun, considers books exciting and fun. Thanks again for creating a truly magical celebration for our Summer Reading Program!"

"It is with great pleasure that our kindergarten staff would highly recommend you to any early childhood audiences. Your program provided our children with many smiles and happy memories. The way you involved the children was clever and professional. We all had a ball and we wish you many happy performances in the future with school children."

"Our library was very fortunate to have had Willmore the Wizard as their kick off entertainment for their Summer Reading Program. Usually when we think of wizards we think magic and/or sorcery. Webster’s also defines a wizard as ‘a person of amazing skill and accomplishment.” This certainly describes Willmore. Anyone who can take an audience of children, many under the age of 6, and entertain them to the extent that behavior was never an issue is pure magic in my book. As I’ve already told my colleagues, all of Wllmore’s performances come with built in advocacy for literacy. Teachers and librarians should take note: Willmore the Wizard’s program is so much fun that young and old alike are captivated. I urge all librarians to do yourselves a favor and book Willmore sooner rather than later. The magic will be the reaction of your audience. I can’t wait for an encore performance. Willmore the Wizard from now on will be a regular at this library."

"Thank you for your wonderful program! Parents and kids alike LOVED everything you did – your scenery, your music, humor and magic. We appreciated your professionalism and especially the way you incorporate books, libraries and reading into your performance. You are the ultimate library performance artist! We will ask you back again!"

"Thank you for bringing ‘The Magic Explorer’ show to our school. The combination of reading and magic is a powerful one, and clearly you were able to combine them in a way that held the attention of our students for nearly an hour – what a magical feat! The teachers report that the children are still saying the ‘magic words’ and that there was lots of spontaneous discussion in the classrooms about particular books that you highlighted during the show. The Arts Council, which funded the performance, will be pleased to hear how well received you were by the kids and staff at Pathways."
-- Caroline Haines, Chief Operating Officer
Pathways for Children/Head Start, Gloucester |
"Thank you so much for the wonderful performance you gave at our library. The feedback from our customers was very positive. One of the greatest strengths of your program was that the children were from beginning to end, whether they were simply participating through call and response, or asked to come up front as special volunteers. Our library would be pleased to welcome Willmore the Wizard back in the future. Thank you again for the engaging children’s entertainment you brought to our library!"
